Sagacity on Saturday : The remarkably simple basis for nationhood

"Nations are nations if they feel themselves to be a nation. And Scotland overwhelmingly feels itself to be a nation."

Said by First Minister Alex Salmond. This quote may be of some assistance to any London media types still in a state of befuddlement about why "but Sunderland has to put up with an unwanted Tory government too" is not a good enough excuse for doing nothing to address Scotland's democratic deficit.
